About this game
Voxel Beasts is a monster-taming RPG with 2v2 turn-based battles. Tame wild beasts, fuse any two of them into a new species, and build a balanced team: a tank to draw fire, a healer to keep everyone standing, and strikers that hit the enemy's weakness.
This is a free one-hour browser demo. Start in Havenbrook, pick your first beast, explore the Windward Coast and Tidehaven, and face the Moonfang Werewolf. Your progress saves in your browser.
The full game spans three regions: the storm-wracked Gale Isles, the volcanic Ember Isle and the Eclipse Spire, where Eclipsar, a sun-eating wyrm, waits. It has over 100 beasts to tame and fuse, voiced characters, side quests and bosses that telegraph their big attacks so you can guard or heal in time.
New in version 2.2: the villages and dungeons of the first two chapters have been rebuilt with wide roads, open plazas and roomy caves, so getting around is much easier. Townsfolk sprites have been cleaned up too.
A secret: some say that late at night, funny little beeping tunes drift out of the trees near the Academy in Havenbrook. Whatever is making them doesn't count against your demo hour, and whoever gets to the bottom of it may meet a very rare beast.
Coming soon to Steam: Early 2027.
Things to try: fuse two beasts at Rowan's stable and see what you discover, tame a beast that is poisoned or asleep, and guard when a boss warns you about its next attack.
Feedback I'd love: Did battles feel fair? Did you understand fusion? Was it ever unclear where to go next? Did anything run slowly or break in your browser?
Controls: arrow keys or WASD to move, E or Space to talk and confirm, Esc or Tab for the menu. Gamepads work too.
What's new in 2.2.1
Animated main menu: the beasts and Eclipsar now come alive on the title screen in a seamless painted loop, with a fade-in and a rising menu bar.
